From: Manchester, UK
I’m CELTA (2014) & CELTA qualified, and have been teaching English since 2015. I have experience teaching young learners (3-17yrs) and adults, groups and individuals, with levels ranging from A1 – C1. I’m friendly, open-minded, a keen traveller, and enjoy meeting and working with people. When teaching, I believe it’s important to engage with students and create a friendly environment in the classroom, using games/activities and personalised topics to encourage student participation and communication, allowing them to gain confidence using a second language.
I teach a mix of classes, but with focus on in-company courses. I teach one-to-one as well as group classes, with a language ability ranging from A2-C1. I use a variety of sources, adapting the lessons as necessary. This includes textbooks (e.g. In Company, Navigate, New English File) and other sources (e.g. using TED talks, news articles, or something personalised related to the student).
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
I privately taught adults one-to-one (as well as some small groups, including a few young learners). The students’ language ability ranged from A2-C1. I enjoyed this one-to-one and small class teaching as it allowed me to engage with students on a personal level and develop my practical teaching skills.
I have work and teaching experience in the business, medical, legal and financial fields as well as experience teaching children.
